Kettle Produce hit a huge milestone in our work with charity network FareShare, as the fresh produce we donated has resulted in the equivalent of one million meals. We donate our surplus produce e.g. carrots, broccoli, washed, chopped & ready to cook to FareShare to ensure that not only does it not go to waste, but it helps in providing nutritional meals for vulnerable people. Kettle Produce has been working with FareShare for over 10 years.
This contributes to the vital work that FareShare does to prevent food waste and support those in need throughout the UK.
FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 organisations, taking good quality surplus food from across the food industry and supplying it to nearly 9,500 charities and community groups e.g. to school breakfast clubs, lunch clubs, homeless shelters and community cafes.
Liz Waugh, Finance Director at Kettle Produce said: “Kettle Produce is proud to be able to support FareShare and provide the opportunity for delicious, nutritious meals to be made for those in need around Scotland and the rest of the UK.
I would like to thank the team at FareShare for all that they do to provide enough food to create almost a million meals for people every week, as well as our own team who contributed to these fantastic results.
We will continue to work with FareShare, who knows when we’ll hit the next big milestone?!”
