As part of our goal to respect and protect our environment and communities and to ensure we are a good neighbour, Kettle Produce has a long history of getting involved in local community initiatives and supporting organisations and charities. We also work closely with schools, colleges, and universities to raise awareness of career opportunities within our sector and to promote health and well-being.
Community Partnerships
FareShare
Kettle Produce is now a FareShare Leading Food Partner. The Scheme is a way to recognise food partners that consistently support the work of FareShare through donations of surplus food.
That means that through our work with FareShare we have been:
Kettle Produce has regularly donated broccoli, prepped veg, kale, sprouts, carrots and cauliflower and we’re so pleased to be able to help people through FareShare. We’re proud to have donated 501 tonnes as of August 2023. Kettle Produce has been working with FareShare for over 10 years and hit the huge landmark of one million meals donated in September 2022.
Leading Food Partner status is awarded annually to businesses that have supplied food to FareShare for at least six months in that calendar year (and, in most cases, much longer than that).
FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 organisations, taking good quality surplus food from across the food industry and supplying it to nearly 9,500 charities and community groups e.g. to school breakfast clubs, lunch clubs, homeless shelters and community cafes.
